Construction Update for NHS

The new Vo-Ag/Woods facility should be ready for occupancy in August. The soon to be finished Auto Technology classrooms and shop are already occupied. All renovations will be completed this summer in the Machine Tech and Welding Tech areas.

Construction/renovation in areas 114 A and 114 B and the present Vo-Ag shop will begin this summer. This renovated space will include two classrooms,three offices and a meeting room. There will be four new classrooms under construction in the old Vo-Ag shop space as school begins in August.

Construction will begin in June on the new Media Center and Administrative/Counseling Center in the main entry area on the south side of our facility. Please use the senior locker area (west entry) throughout the summer if you need to enter the building. This will be a lengthy project and will be ongoing all of next school year. When everything is completed there will be four additional new classrooms available to serve the needs of students and teachers as well as three additional conference rooms. Also being completed in this construction phase is a new lecture hall (75 seats) which will be located within the Media Center complex.

April 2009 Update

At Chisholm, the building pads for the gym and the new vocal room have been completed. The storm sewer and the sanitary sewer have been installed. Crews are hoping to start laying block for the gym around May 1.

Elsewhere in the district, construction continues at Newton High School in the vocational areas, Santa Fe Middle School and the Educational Technology Center.
